Exciting Racing Action on East Strand Portrush
The Knock Club Beach Race is set to make an exciting return to Portrush in 2026, bringing two action-packed days of motorsport competition to the sands of the North Coast.
This much-anticipated annual event will be held on Saturday, 17th October and Sunday, 18th October 2026, with racing scheduled from 11:00 to 15:00 each day.
Spectators are invited to enjoy the event free of charge, with a complimentary programme available to guide you through the weekend's schedule.
Whether you're a seasoned motorsport enthusiast or simply looking for an unforgettable day out by the sea, the Knock Club Beach Race promises an electrifying atmosphere for all ages.
As the engines roar and the competitors battle it out on the sand, take advantage of the vibrant local hospitality and soak up the thrilling action from prime vantage points.

Portrush East Strand, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Easily accessible and renowned for its dramatic coastal scenery, Portrush offers the perfect setting for high-adrenaline beach racing.

Both Days Practice runs & 4 races per day per class
Please note that race timings and additional activities will be published closer to the event date.

Spectators entrance is free along with a complementary programme everyone welcome and encouraged to join the excitement on Portrush Beach.

Transponders are available for hire from David Barr at £10 per day. A security deposit of £20 (a valid driver’s licence or equivalent) is required and will be refunded upon return. To book a transponder, text Trevor at 07722006995.

We will not be accepting entries on the day.

Briefing for the Beach race from Clerk of the Course Eddie Johnston will be held each day. Riders must attend
At this event you will be using public areas, were space and time are restricted, the following will be strictly adhered to.
The local authorities governing these areas have strict rules and measures that need to be meet for the running of this and future events.
1. Parking Paddock the Club are limited to 120 parking spaces in the paddock area,
a. 1 vehicle per rider and park within the bay,
b. The Club has had to purchase the spaces, if you park outside the Paddock it is a “Pay and Display” enforced during the times displayed on parking signs.
c. Strictly NO OVER NIGHT CAMPING in the carpark
2. Signing on
a. Friday 16th sign on 6pm to 8pm in the paddock
b. Saturday & Sunday 8am to 10:30am
c. A day licence covers a rider for both days available online or at rider sign-on
3. Beach Holding Area
a. The entrance to the beach holding area will be open half an hour before start of practice and half hour after the last race has finished
b. The council has stipulated the public walkway can only be closed at these times to facilitate access to the beach.
c. Racing Machines cannot be removed from the holding area until the event is over
4. Refuelling Area
a. There will be a refuel area as you come off the track with mats to refuel on
b. Spill kits available if needed.
5. No tear offs allowed on googles.
6. Visual technical inspection and noise control
a. This will be at the paddock exit to the track each morning.
7. Practice and Race order for both days, each class will get at least 3 sets maybe 4
1. Vets 45 and over and Sportsmen (scored separately) 5 laps
2. Clubmen even numbers 5 laps
3. Clubmen odd numbers 5 laps
4. Clubmen quads 5 laps
5. Grade A & B 7 laps
6. Expert Quads 7 laps

8. Start of Race will be by LIGHT SYSTEM
a. you will be called forward to the line red lights will be on, when the red lights go out race starts.
9. No machine washing available or permitted on the site
10. Transponders will be used for timekeeping
a. Transponders are available for hire from signing on £10 per day
b. Live timing will be available on Speed Hive
11. Overall, Winners Presentation for each class will be at the commentary point immediately after the last race for each class.
12. Failure to comply with the club’s agents’ instructions and measures may lead to exclusion from the event

We are the ambassadors for our sport, so we all need to put on a good display of sportsmanship & show how good our sport is. The council and police will be attending both days, please follow all instructions from official and leave the right impression of our sport.
